Psychoanalysis and analytic psychotherapy offer a path toward knowing ourselves more deeply. A starting point for personal analysis may be encountering a question about ourselves: realizing how unfamiliar we are to ourselves, feeling psychological pain, recognizing symptoms whose causes we do not understand, or wondering why certain events keep recurring in our lives. At this point, we are beginning a journey to explore our inner labyrinth.
