My perspective on the therapy room:

The therapy room is a space for listening empathically to the patient's story, for being understood and heard anew, and for creating a fresh, meaningful account of being.

Here, patients experience being heard and understood. They encounter the feelings and emotions they have experienced and continue to experience, and become acquainted with their capacities, limitations, inner conflicts, and contradictions. They gain awareness of their ways of being and thinking, understand the reasons behind their choices and states of mind, recognize their own role and responsibility in their life story, and ultimately can make use of more effective tools.
