My perspective on the therapy room:

Psychoanalytic therapy is an in-depth process focused on discovering the unconscious roots of psychological difficulties. From the therapist's perspective, it offers clients an opportunity to identify hidden mental patterns, inner conflicts, and repressed feelings. Through free association, expressing thoughts and dreams, and exploring past and present relationships, clients examine unconscious influences on their behavior and emotions.

The therapist uses several tools in this process. Resistance refers to the client's unconscious efforts to avoid painful feelings or memories. Transference is the process through which clients attribute feelings and expectations from past relationships to the therapist; analyzing it helps deepen the understanding of conflicts and emotional patterns. Dream analysis explores symbols and dream content as a window into the unconscious. Free association encourages clients to express whatever comes to mind without censorship or judgment.

These tools help the psychoanalyst reach deeper layers of the client's mind. Through continuing analysis and reflection on these experiences, the therapist helps clients recognize recurring psychological patterns and work toward deep, lasting changes in the structure of their personality.
