My perspective on the therapy room:

Therapy is a space where we allow a piercing light to enter us slowly, reaching what we cannot initially see, hear, or reach with reason, logic, or all the resources we have. This light both burns and brings clarity and life. It is made of ourselves and another person, somewhere between us, both unfamiliar and familiar.

Often, repairing wounds requires more than dressing or stitching them and leaving them to time. In the therapy room, the therapist and the part of the patient that stays and desires, despite suffering gripping the walls of the mind, join together to reach deeper wounds: wounds without time, place, or name. Gradually, from the intertwined turmoil of anxieties, limitations, and hopelessness, sounds, syllables, and then words take on life and meaning, telling a new story. A bittersweet mixture of thought and speech. Each person becomes the teller of their own unique story of the world, a story of light and darkness.
