My perspective on the therapy room:
The psychoanalytic therapy room is a place for careful reflection and attending to the self: a space for searching, discovering, and encountering the hidden truths of the mind. Fantasy and dreams act as bridges between the unconscious and awareness, playing a central role in uncovering and expressing what has remained hidden.
Here, the therapist is not merely a passive listener but a careful, sensitive companion who helps clients revisit and interpret their inner experiences. The therapeutic relationship provides a setting for transference and recognition of internal patterns. In this unique interaction, psychoanalysis pursues a deeper understanding of the self, access to psychological possibilities for becoming freer from past repetitions, and acceptance of what lies beyond our control. This inner exploration can help clients connect past events with present difficulties and, through deeper insight, find an opportunity to rewrite their life story.
