My perspective on the therapy room:
The therapeutic setting has a clear, established framework in which the unconscious of client and therapist meet. In this safe, structured space, the patient's unconscious material emerges through transference, countertransference, and the verbal and nonverbal elements brought into the therapy room. The therapist explores this material in light of an understanding of their own unconscious and offers interpretations suited to the patient's psychological capacity.
