By reexperiencing past conflicts and significant object relationships in the therapy room, within the client-therapist relationship and analytic setting, new understanding and a capacity for thought emerge. Life can then unfold on a different level, with greater capacity to tolerate limitations and frustrations, and opportunities to experience personal creativity and more effective object relationships.
