My perspective on the therapy room:
Perhaps therapy can be described as finding words again, and as a deep journey toward rediscovering a lost self. Words that have lost their standing and turned into symptoms and bodily signs; feelings that have never been heard and have left the realm of language. What is expressed in words can also find its place in the mind. This process of becoming words reaches its destination through being properly heard. It is as though words can organize and civilize the mind again, releasing it from a primitive state in which symptoms take hold. Perhaps therapy is even the act of thinking about the way we think.
